The Stress Check is a standardized questionnaire used to assess employees’ psychological stress levels.
In Japan, companies with a worksite with 50 or more regularly employed workers are legally required to conduct the Stress Check at least once a year. The purpose of the Stress Check is to help employees become aware of their own stress levels and promote self-care, while also enabling employers to identify workplace factors that may contribute to stress and take steps to improve the overall work environment.
Step | 01 |
All applicable companies must conduct the Stress Check once a year.
Step | 02 |
Companies must submit a report to the labor office each year to confirm that the Stress Check has been conducted.
Step | 03 |
Companies must offer employees identified as high-stress the opportunity to request an interview with an Occupational Health Physician.
